SOOFOO社区食集,历时一年的策划与设计,于2024年6月18日开始对外营业。从盛夏到暖冬,SOOFOO自然生长,悄然成为了上海黄浦璟湾社区的社交热点。
After a year of planning and design, SOOFOO COMMON KITCHEN opened on June 18, 2024. From summer to winter, it gradually becomes a popular social spot in Shanghai’s Huangpu Jingwan neighborhood.
SOOFOO就是舒服,发音【su:fu:】,源自上海话“适宜”。 SOOFOO社区食集主张自然,慢食,分享的生活态度,用美味重建邻里关系;以日常的生活为场景,传递一种自带松弛感的烟火气。继成功打造碰头吃饭古北店后,MEEM HOUSE与SOOFOO运营团队深度合作,重新思考社区食集的非标商业类型:不仅设计,更是营造。
The name “SOOFOO,” pronounced [su: fu:], comes from the Shanghainese word for “comfortable.” It promotes a lifestyle of nature, slow dining, and sharing, rebuilding neighborhood connections through food and creating a relaxed, vibrant community atmosphere.After the success of MEET & EAT in Gubei, MEEM HOUSE partnered with SOOFOO to redefine community food courts — not just designing, but crafting dynamic spaces.

在2021年的夏天,我们为预制鸡尾酒品牌WAT打造了一处可以随时随地开怀畅饮的绿色都市丛林。设计之初,我们非常坚定店铺的选址原则:我们要离开传统的商业综合体,我们要回到适宜步行的街区,我们需要一个充满活力的非标社区商业。最终的答案就是位于上海市静安区巨鹿路758号(JULU 758)的MORE THAN EAT(以下简称MTE)。
In the summer of 2021, we created a green urban jungle for WAT, a pre-mixed cocktail brand, offering a space for carefree enjoyment anytime, anywhere. From the start, we were committed to finding the right location: away from traditional malls, rooted in walkable neighborhoods, and part of a vibrant, non-standardized commercial community. The answer was MORE THAN EAT (MTE) at 758 Julu Road in Jing’an District, Shanghai.
同年圣诞,MTE的创始团队选址古北社区,致力新的迭代品牌碰头吃饭(MEET & EAT,以下简称M&E)食集空间的改造和运营。碰头吃饭上海古北店,在一栋老房子里建造一条可以见面偶遇,碰头吃饭的High Street。从最初与MTE操盘手的甲乙方博弈到持续至今的紧密合作共同体,我们最终成为了后续一系列社区食集改造项目的设计方,从选址、策划、设计、建造到招商运营的共创,为上海的社区商业更新版图绘制了一幅MEEM HOUSE的食集地图志。
That Christmas, the MTE founding team set their sights on Gubei, launching a new iteration: MEET & EAT (M&E). Housed in an old building, M&E Gubei location became a “high street” where people could meet, bump into each other, and enjoy great food. What began as a client-provider dynamic evolved into a close, collaborative partnership. Together, we have spearheaded a series of community food court transformations, handling everything from location selection, planning, and design to construction and operations. These projects have helped redraw the map of Shanghai’s community commerce, crafting a MEEM HOUSE Food Court Atlas.

Food is new Fashion!
大食代1997年第一次出现在中国,一般选址在CBD商圈的商业中心,是为传统商业地产赋能的标准化产品。不同于早期商场的大食代,在都市街区中的社区食集,餐饮可以不是主角,但社交一定是。
Food Republic first entered China in 1997, typically located in commercial centers within CBDs, serving as standardized products to enhance traditional commercial real estate. Unlike these early food courts, community food courts in urban neighborhoods shift the focus from dining to social interaction.
“无论是作为社交场景、文化媒介还是消费符号,“吃”都有着丰富的延展空间……当常规就餐已经不再具备吸引力,餐饮空间要想成为一个值得专门前往的目的地,空间要舒适开放、有归属感,契合生活的理念;而这里的商品,不仅需要有基础的品质,还要带来独特的文化视野。”这是公众号彼山对碰头吃饭古北店的采访摘录,也是这个时代关于食物与美食的空间宣言。
“Whether as a social setting, cultural medium, or consumer symbol, ‘eating’ offers immense possibilities…… When conventional dining loses its appeal, dinning spaces must become destinations — comfortable, open, and aligned with modern lifestyles. Products here should not only meet basic quality standards but also provide unique cultural perspectives.” This excerpt from Bishan’s interview on MEET & EAT Gubei summarizes the contemporary vision for food and dining spaces.
传统商业界面讲究金角银边,最好的位置必须留给主力店,沿街面一定要占据最大的品牌露出。社区食集的设计原则却是要把沿街最好的位置让给消费者,所有的档口和小店铺都退后,成为社交场景的背景。1000平方米,200个餐位,10个档口,构成了一个食集空间的基础数据,也是一个社交空间的复杂系统。
Traditional commercial layouts prioritize prime spots for anchor stores and maximum brand exposure along street-facing areas. In contrast, community food courts allocate the best positions to consumers—stalls and shops are set back, forming a backdrop to social interactions. A 1,000-square-meter space with 200 seats and 10 stalls creates both a foundational dining layout and a dynamic social system.

SOOFOO的选址位于城方·黄浦璟湾社区,位置得天独厚,是黄浦老城厢城市更新的典范。该社区位于黄埔世博滨江板块,属于传统都市核心区,拥有总建筑面积7.4万平方米,公寓750套的体量,总居住人口可达2100人,具备充足稳定的人流基本盘。漫圈邻里(Match Living)作为该社区的配套商业,运营团队踌躇满志,渴望为其打造一处社交属性拉满的食集空间。
SOOFOO is located in Chengfang Huangpu Jingwan Community, a prime example of urban renewal in Shanghai’s historic Huangpu district. Situated in the core Expo Riverside area, this community spans 74,000 square meters, housing 750 apartments with a residential capacity of 2,100 people, ensuring a stable and ample customer base. The accompanying commercial project, Match Living, aims to create a food court brimming with social vitality.
去中心化,无边界感的场地重塑,是看不见的外科手术。原始场地的预设商业是生鲜超市,只预留了一个位于场地中央的厨房点位,土建和机电都是为此配置。几乎所有旧物业,都没有符合食集要求的机电条件,二次机电的改造需要极致的耐心和技巧,这是伤筋动骨的技术活。设计团队如果只是对颜值负责,是远远不够的,我们还需要学会通经活络。
The site underwent a decentralized, borderless transformation, an intricate “invisible surgery.” Originally designed for a fresh food market with a single central kitchen, the space required significant reconfiguration of civil engineering and MEP systems — challenging yet essential for food courts. Design is not merely about aesthetics; it also demands technical finesse to optimize infrastructure.
模糊室内外的气候边界,让绿地、空气、雨水和阳光不再只是风景,而是可以触达的场所元素。主入口利用现状的出挑屋檐,包裹陶土砖和木饰面,形成天然的外摆区域。我们没有拆除场地的石墩,而是微改造成一组折叠起伏的街具,可躺坐,可攀爬,甚至可以是小孩们的滑滑梯。转角是斜屋顶钢木框架,质感粗粝的工字钢与温润的防腐木暗钉铆接,提供了一个转角店可以自行DIY的灰空间外摆;位于场地南侧的大台阶连接顶层的零售商业,台阶卡座既是品牌露出,也成为食集的第三种外摆形态。
Blurring indoor-outdoor boundaries was key. Existing canopies were adapted using terracotta bricks and wood finishes to create natural al fresco dining areas. Original stone blocks were reimagined as multifunctional street furniture—folded, undulating forms that invite sitting, climbing, or playful sliding for children. A corner steel-wood pergola with exposed I-beams and anti-corrosion wood offers flexible DIY exterior spaces for tenants, while tiered seating on the south side connects to upper-level retail, doubling as branding and alternative outdoor dining.
出入口确定后的线性动线具有一定的弹性,变量就是共享就餐区和档口。我们优先布置的是两个共享就餐区:长桌区+花园区。长桌区遵循食集设计的第一原则,即最好的位置让给消费者。长桌、地台、外摆、折叠长窗,奢侈舒适的四件套构成了食集特有的空间记忆。约90平方米、占场地近10%、最多可布置3个档口的长桌区,不仅提供了“最好的位置”,也在运营端完成了无负担的消费体验:中国餐饮界智能化普及率极高,年轻一代的消费者更喜欢扫码点餐,自在随意来去自由。
Flexible pathways balance shared dining zones and food stalls. Two core areas were prioritized: the Long Table Zone and Garden Zone. The Long Table Zone, embodying the principle of giving “the best space to consumers,” combines dining tables, raised platforms, outdoor seating, and folding windows for a luxurious yet relaxed experience. Covering 90 square meters (10% of the site), it accommodates up to 3 food stalls and supports a seamless, self-service dining experience favored by tech-savvy younger generations.
花园区位于场地中央,连接东西两大片区。由于处于大台阶正下方,剖面复杂且无采光。破题思路是一个轻自然,微科技的口袋花园:丰沛的绿植,空心砖与夯土墙形成院墙;智能化控制的晴空灯模拟自然光,实时模拟室外的天空,与大自然共享时空。
The Garden Zone, centrally located beneath the complex staircase, overcomes challenges of low light and irregular structure. The solution—a pocket garden blending light technology and natural elements—features abundant greenery, hollow bricks, and rammed earth walls. Skylight simulations with smart lighting recreate outdoor skies, offering a serene natural ambiance.
冬季建设,春日面市。从烟火早餐,路边咖啡,街头小炒,东北烧烤到深夜食堂,SOOFOO多层次的餐饮集合为社区居民和周边市民提供一个开放的公共客厅。喜欢来SOOFOO的人,不一定是肚子饿了,因为这里还可以约会或碰头,可以遛娃或遛狗,可以独处或发呆。
Opening in spring after winter construction, SOOFOO serves as a “public living room” for the community. From breakfast bites, roadside coffee, and street snacks to Northeast BBQ and late-night dining, it offers multi-layered food options. Visitors may not come just to eat—they come to meet, stroll with kids or pets, enjoy solitude, or simply unwind.

社区食集的魅力在于场地的非标,不同的场地,不同的社区,不同的风味,成就了食集的在地性:巨富长街区的是MORE THAN EAT,属于古北社区是老房子里的新街区,普陀轨道高架边的是街头与骑行社区,十六铺码头海派建筑里的是Fooood Lane,比邻中山公园是重塑地铁文化的Metro Eats。
The charm of community food courts lies in their non-standardized spaces, each shaped by its unique site, community, and local flavors. This local character has given rise to diverse courts: MORE THAN EAT in the vibrant Jufuchang district, MEET & EAT as a new street in an old building in Gubei, the cycling-inspired hub by Putuo’s elevated railway, Fooood Lane in the Shikumen architecture of the Shiliupu dock area, and Metro Eats redefining subway culture near Zhongshan Park.
如果说食集是一种由食客、主理人和美食档口组成的聚落,随着场地条件的变化,它会因地制宜的自然生长。选址,流线,分铺,公区,场景,档口设计管理,以一种非线性的动态设计交替进行。有别于单一品牌的餐饮空间,食集聚集了不同地域和风味的餐饮类型,小食集大世界的既视感。合作的档口并非主流的连锁品牌,因此招商并非一蹴而就,食集在档口的分期入驻中,缓慢的呈现出一种丰富混杂多元的市井气息。
If a food court is seen as a settlement formed by diners, operators, and food stalls, its growth naturally adapts to the site’s conditions. Site selection, layouts, zoning, public spaces, scenes, and stall management unfold dynamically in a non-linear design process. Unlike single-brand dining spaces, food courts gather diverse cuisines and flavors, creating a “small hub, big world” effect. Collaborating with non-mainstream, independent vendors requires time; the staggered opening of stalls slowly fills the space with a vibrant, eclectic marketplace atmosphere.
我们尝试整理过一套自上而下(top-down)的食集标准化SI,从选址、布局、流线、标识、主材,软装等模块进行精细化设计,过度设计(over design)的结果反而是丧失了所在社区的在地性。去标准化的设计,适度控制的留白,因地制宜的建造,才是打开食集设计包的正确姿态。
We once attempted to develop a top-down standardized SI system for food courts, detailing site selection, layouts, circulation, signage, materials, and decor. However, excessive standardization led to a loss of the community’s unique identity. The right approach to designing food courts is de-standardization, intentional restraint, and tailored, context-sensitive construction.
一个有人情味和烟火气的食集,应该是自下而上(bottom-up)营造出来的。
A food court that embodies warmth and everyday charm must grow organically from the bottom up, shaped by its people, place, and purpose.

SOOFOO是我们所有建成项目里从开业到媒体发表,耗时最久的一个项目,因为我们的设计工作并没有因为建成而结束,我们一直在保持对场所的微调,观察和记录。
SOOFOO stands out among all our completed projects as the one that took the longest from opening to media coverage. This is because our design work did not stop with its completion—we’ve continued to fine-tune the space, observe its dynamics, and document its evolution.
开业半年后,我们安排了一次不同以往的拍摄。摄影师Voyager 21是我们的老朋友,他最大的职业梦想是拍纪录片。在不同天气和时间段的多次场地体验后,我们决定挑战不清场拍摄,拍一段记录真实日常的微型纪录片。
Six months after its opening, we planned an unconventional shoot. Photographer Voyager21, a long-time friend whose ultimate career dream is to make documentaries, collaborated with us on this unique project. After multiple site visits in varying weather and at different times of day, we decided to take on the challenge of filming without clearing the space, creating a micro-documentary that captures the authentic, everyday life of the hub.
九月的下午,阳光、微风、绿叶、树影的交织摇曳,整个场地仿佛在呼吸,人来人往,真的很SOOFOO。
One September afternoon, with sunlight filtering through swaying leaves, gentle breezes, and shifting shadows, the entire space seemed to breathe. People came and went, and the atmosphere felt truly “SOOFOO.”
