历经一年的筹备，楚令尹开业了。作为参与筹备的一员深感欣慰。“楚令尹”一词来源于春秋战国，是楚国在当时的最高官衔，主要由楚国贵族当中的贤能来担任，是掌握政治事务，发号施令的最高官，其执掌一国之国柄，身处上位，以率下民，对内主持国事，对外主持战争，总揽军政大权于一身。所以这个名称毋庸置疑代表着高级，因为楚国所在地包括湖南，所以湖南文化与古楚文化如出一辙。这里我们不谈餐厅的名字，只要记得楚令尹是高级湘菜的代表就够了。

After a year of preparation, ChuLingYin is opened. It is a great pleasure to be a part of the preparations. The term of “ChuLingYin” comes from the Spring and Autumn Period and Warring States Period, Which was the highest official title of the Chu State at that time. It was mainly held by the worthy people among the nobles of the Chu State. They are the highest officials who control political affairs and issue orders. They are in charge of the state affairs of a country. They are in the a high position to lead people, preside over state affairs internally, preside over wars externally, and have overall military and political power. Therefore, this name undoubtedly represents high-level, because the location of Chu State includes Hunan. Meanwhile, Hunan culture is exactly the same as ancient Chu culture. We won’t talk about the name of the restaurant here, just remember that ChuLingYin is the representative of high-end Hunan cuisine.

回到设计上来，首先非常感谢甲方黄岳红女士的大力支持和信任，因为本场的前身“雁舍四季”也是我们参与完成的，坦白说能否超越以前我们并不清晰，这对于無之来说有着极大的挑战。楚令尹的设计初衷与雁舍四季也有着明显的区别，雁舍相对是平价消费，而楚令尹则是具有传统文化特点（在视觉与味觉上）的高级湘菜餐厅。所以设计理所应当就围绕着高级和传统展开了。

Back to the design, first of all, I am very grateful to our client Ms. HuangYuehong for her strong support and trust, because we also participated in the completion of the predecessor of this project “Yanshe Four Seasons”. Frankly speaking, we are not sure whether it can surpass the previous one. This is a great challenge for Wuzhi Design. The original design intention of ChuLingYin is also obviously different from “Yanshe Four Seasons”. Yanshe is relatively affordable, while Chulingyin is a high-end Hunan Cuisine restaurant with traditional cultural characteristics (in terms of vision and taste). Therefore, the design should naturally revolve around high-end and tradition.

“高级”这个词对于我是有些反感的，或许是内心的一点小自卑，日常里对其是敬而远之的，但同时我所认为的高级又与市场的高级有着本质的区别，于是我便释然了。究竟何为高级？粗浅的理解就是精细化的服务，当然也包括空间设计在内。换句话说就是将简单的事情复杂化，这话听起来似乎不太好听，其实就是如此，所以，增加舞台化和仪式感成了设计的主角，比如，安静的水池，悠长的走廊，明暗变化的灯光，展示厨艺的移动餐车，包房的休息区与茶室等等这些都是提升高级感的必要手段，总之你的服务越精细，客人的体验也就越高级。

The word “high-end” is a bit offensive to me. Maybe it is due to a little inferiority in my heart.

I stay away from it in daily life. But at the same time, what I think is high-end is fundamentally different from the market’s high-end, so I feel relieved. What exactly is advanced? A superficial understanding is refined service, which of course also includes space design. In other words, It is to complicate simple things. This may not sound good, but it is actually the truth. As a result, adding a sense of stage and ceremony has become the protagonist of the design. For example, quiet pools, long corridors, lighting that changes in light and dark, mobile dining trucks showing cooking skills, private seating areas and tea rooms, etc., are all ways to enhance the high-end of space. The more refined service is , the more advanced the guest’s experience will be.

再说传统，不同的人对传统有着不同的解读，有人视传统为保守，我则不以为然，因为很多人不懂得在历史中看问题，如今的传统已经是我们生活的一部分，单纯的把传统看作一种形式是狭隘的。我们没有能力重现历史，重现所谓楚国的辉煌，更没有必要重复历史，而空间设计最重要的是表现我们心中的过去，打造一个属于当代的楚令尹。中华民族有着几千年的传承，留给我们的文化似乎模糊又清晰，谦虚的，内敛的，朴实的，深远的，点点滴滴经历着创造与传承，如今我们不能完整的再现美好（楚文化），但在历史的碎片中也能抓到些许传统文化的印迹。是博物馆里陶罐漆器上一道红，是青铜璞玉上的一抹绿。

Let‘s talk about tradition. Different people have different interpretations of tradition. Some people regard tradition as conservation, but I don’t think so, because many people don’t know how to look at problems in history. Today’s tradition is already a part of our life. We simply regard tradition as one form is parochial. We do not have the ability to recreate the history and the glory of Chu State, and there is no need to repeat history. The most important thing in space design is to expresso the past in our hearts and create a contemporary “ChuLingYin”. The Chinese nation has thousands of years of heritage. The culture left to us may seem vague, but it is also clear, modest, restrained, simple and profound. It goes through bits and pieces of creation and inheritance. Now we cannot fully reproduce the beauty of Chu culture, but we can also capture some traces of traditional culture in the fragments of history. There is a flash of red on the pottery pots in the museums, and a flash of green on the bronze and jade.
